Effective Ways To Pot Your Orchids

Potting orchids is quite money for jam. All you have to do is to choose the specific type of soil or potting material. The correct medium is fibrous, coarse, and porous substance. It is urgent to note that an acid reaction of medium level can ensure the correct environment without uncontrolled decomposition of the potting material.

Before you can pot any plants, you need to have the incumbent gardening tools first. Believe it or not, a screwdriver can also be one of the urgent gardening tools which you will always use. Indeed, a screwdriver can be used for freeing compost and loosening it. It helps you push and settle compost within the tiny orchid seedlings. If you don’t want to use a screwdriver, you can use shears or sharp knives instead.

Choosing the correct pot for potting orchids is all about personal preferences and of course the favourableness of the orchid plant. Cattleya, Cymbidiums, and Cypripediums grow best in pots. Certain species like Phalaenopsis grows best in baskets or teeny-weeny pots. A heavy and healthy plant will obviously require a large pot while a small and slow growing orchid requires a smaller pot. If you want to grasp the growth of your plants’ roots, choose a clear plastic pot. You can also use ceramic flower pots for potting your favourite plants and flowers.
