Gardening Tips: Some Categories of Roses

Roses are without question one of the most popular flowers to grow. They never seem to dip in appeal. type of rose best meets your ideas for planting? There are so many to choose from, but here are a few ideas.

It is best to consult the local garden center for advice on whether your proposed selection is fitting to your garden.

Landscape roses
Landscape roses are a great choice for the gardening beginner. They are disease resistant, and require less nurturing.
Hybrid teas would not be good for the gardening beginner.

Climbing Roses
These plants are different from other rose types as they are trained to grow upward just like vines. Many gardeners like to use these for pergolas, trellises or buildings. Some of them are hybrid teas, wichuraiana and large flowered climbers. They can be a lovely addition to the appeal of a garden or house.

Shrub Roses
Shrub roses like the lovely rugosa are both disease resistant and long blooming. These are also very good for the newcomer to gardening. They are beautiful even when they are not in blossom because the leaves are so pretty.

Old Garden Roses
These roses are not suitable for persons with bad allergic reactions to powerful fragrances because they have a powerful fragrant smell. However, they are resistant to disease and flower for months.

The Modern Rose
These are very special roses because they are the product of crossing the hybrid tea with the polyanthus. They are also referred to as Floribunda. They are a lovely union of the best these two flowers have to offer. They are long blooming, fragrant and great for cutting.

Miniature Roses
Miniature roses are truly what they sound like. They have all of the beauty and fragrance of a regular rose, but the flowers are smaller. This type are an excellent choice for indoor planting and patio gardening.
