Should I Choose Hardwood Floors or Tile for my Kitchen?
The vast majority of the floor coverings in my residence is carpeting, the same type of floor coverings found in virtually every room of the residence I was raised in. Therefore, when I decided to upgrade my kitchen, the choice between hardwood floors, tile or linoleum was challenging. The only alternative I could eliminate right off the bat was linoleum, simply because it is not my taste.
So the war had begun, hardwood flooring versus tile. Both provide numerous options. Types of tile include ceramic, porcelain, quarry, and more all in numerous colors. With hardwood flooring, it is not the textile that changes, but alternatively the type of flooring, for example, solid wood, strip flooring, or plank flooring. These all differ according to width along with thickness. Then there is parquet flooring which provides a geometrical design. With hardwood flooring the color options are lessened, but are more natural which is very easy to decorate around.
Then there is care. In the beginning, I was worried hardwood flooring would be complicated to take care of considering that I am most acquainted with mopping and vacuuming. With hardwood flooring, you have to use proper floor cleanser and can not over saturate with water.
In the end, my choice was for hardwood flooring. The organic look appealed to me and the thought of much less time spent vacuuming sounded nice. Subsequently, the next step I took was to find a trustworthy hardwood floor company, rather than going to a massive hardware store. I thought that a specialized company would have more product choices and would be extremely reliable with their trade.
Now viewing the outcome I am content with my selection. The real wood is natural looking and pairs well with my granite kitchen countertops. I was able to choose from quite a few shades of wood and the company I employed did an incredible job putting in the hardwood floors. The upkeep is not an excessive amount of work either. I put rugs at the entryways to catch dirt and excess water from individuals strolling in from outside and I sweep every week. When there is a scuff or a dirty spot, I recently found a product that claims it will not dull or damage my hardwood floor that I have been satisfied with. Now that I have one room of hardwood flooring, I want them throughout my entire home.
