Some Suggested Window Treatments
There are many different types and uses of window tints available in the market today. Aside from safety and security, heat retention, privacy and UV protection applications, this can also be used for decorative purposes. Through treating the transparent plastic or vinyl films of window tints, ultraviolet rays can be blocked and film for safety glass is provided.
The most common application of window tint is on car windows and windshields. The interior heat is reduced and the passengers are protected from the glare because these can significantly block the sunlight coming in the car. Commercial windows or high rise windows tints help protect the occupants from both the glare and heat, while providing privacy from onlookers. Hospitals, clinics, residential windows and even coffee table glass benefit from the application of window tinting.
More and more residential homes are getting tinted windows to add privacy to the residents, improve heating and cooling costs and block the harmful UV rays of the sun. Window tinting is especially popular with the modern and contemporary style of homes because they feature seamless lines, clean facades and lots of windows!
Another way of providing privacy to a home is to install window blinds on the windows. Slats of material that can be adjusted from an open position to a closed position by rotating are what made up a window blind. Slats may overlap on the closed position through this. Instead of slats, there are also window blinds that use a single piece of material. A wide variety of window blinds styles, materials and colors are available. The materials commonly used include fabric, wood, plastic and metal. Styles are the slat type or the solid type. Bamboo sticks laid and roped together to form a mat are also used aside from bamboo blind that uses either slats or one whole piece of material. Bamboo blinds can be raised and lowered by pulling a string that rolls and unrolls the mat up.
Blinds are also used by some vehicles. These are a common way to protect the vehicle and are known as ‘car blinds’. Some are usually attached using suction cups or static cling though some are integrated in the automotive’s design. The most common styles, solid fabric and slat blinds, have paved way for cheaper and more flexible, folding wire-framed net or stocking synthetic blinds. Where local car tint laws are strict and owners want to have more privacy without breaking the law, these types of blinds are used.
